Our Class Government
Our class runs a mini government. It's a wonderful way for students to learn, on a smaller scale, how our economic and electoral systems function. It is also a great way to learn responsibility within our classroom!
Each student is paid $6 a day (or $1 an hour) for coming to school and working hard. In addition, each student has the opportunity to be elected to a leadership position, which can earn them an additional weekly salary. Below are the government positions for which students can run.
Our Recent Elections
To get a position on a board, students participate in elections. Each report card term, they make a speech about whey they are a good candidate for the board. Then, the class votes for who they want as a representative. Here are some pictures from our most recent election!
