About ME
Hello,
My Name is Winter Thorne-Kaunelis and I am the new Physical Education Teacher at Botelle Elementary School. I am very excited to return to Norfolk for the school year as I am Botelle graduate myself. I am an avid sports enthusiast as well as physical activity of any kind. I like to play any and every sport I have ever tried and I encourage students to do the same instead of focusing on just one singular sport. By playing multiple sports young athletes will develop a wide skill set of physical skill themes and movement concepts that they will be able to apply to any sport. That being said a few of my favorite sports are Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, and Tennis.
After Botelle I went To Northwestern Regional #7 for Middle and High school and played Soccer and Tennis throughout. After I Graduated I received my Health and PE Teaching Certification at Eastern Connecticut State University where I was the president of the Ultimate Frisbee Club. In addition to sports, I enjoy Hiking, Kayaking, Video games, and Reading.
