Morning Choice & Morning/Closing Circle
Morning choice and morning circle are two components of our schedule that may seem unfamiliar to you.
When students enter the room in the morning, they have a ten minute window before our instructional time begins. This year, things will look a little different, but they can pick a variety of activities to help ease into their morning. Examples are puzzles, games, cards, drawing and reading. They love having a say in the activity they pick.
Once the school day begins, the class will begin morning meeting. We identify what our "color" is based on the mood meter which we implement through our RULER program. They will also be given a discussion question to answer if they wish. We then have a conversation or take turns sharing our answers.
At the end of the day we briefly talk again on to reflect on our day.

On Wednesdays our class does not have a special, but we have many different events planned to make the most of our extra time. Our first option is a library media lesson with Mrs. Dubecky. If that lesson is not able to happen that week, we have the opportunity to learn about other cultures and historical figures from that time.
